The Rust Belt
  1. “The Moment of Silence” Looks Promising

“The Moment of Silence” is a near-future science-fiction adventure game with classic point and click gameplay, developed by German studio House of Tales and released in 2004. As far as I can tell from playing through the first part, the story, set in New York (and other locations) in the year 2044, revolves around Orwellian themes of social control, substitution of illusory security for privacy and other human rights and the unholy alliance between multinational corporations and governments.

After the puzzles I have already solved, it seems like this could become one of the best adventure games I have ever played. The world and characters are believable, the plot has already sucked me in and dialogues (including voice acting) are simply a real pleasure to listen to. Well written and informative, giving many more clues about the setting than it is required to move forward – they just do not make me skip them which is rare in video games. Instead, I listen to every possible dialogue line and always look for the ones I have not already heard. Not only because it is oftenly required but to have better understanding of the reality in which the story unfolds.

The graphics is completely sufficient and builds the mood accordingly. Here are several screenshots:
